The cherry blossom is one of the biggest attractions in Taiwan in the spring. This is the main reason why tourists from all over the world visit Taiwan to witness this breathtaking attraction. Among the areas that are popular with cherry blossom in this country include the state of Hsinchu. The weather in this area allows the beautiful flowers to blossom during certain seasons and this creates a spectacle which is wonderful to witness. The cherry blossom mainly happens in the month of March. To properly witness this spectacle there are certain spots which are more ideal since one gets a clear view of the flowers- Hsinchu Park and Neiwan.
One of the most popular cherry blossom spots in Hsinchu is Hsinchu Park. This park is strategically located at the center of Hsinchu City. Because of the location of this city, it is easy to get in and out. There are reliable roads which are from different directions. One can use a private vehicle or use public means to get to the park. To visit the park during the month of March which is the season that the flowers blossom.
Near Hsinchu Park, there is a flower market that is opened every weekend. This market is popular among both locals and visitors. The visitors who come into this area are able to conveniently buy different types of flowers from the market. One also gets an opportunity to see the flowers which are hardly found in any other part of the world. Besides the flower market, there is also the Glass Museum of Hsinchu City which is also nearby. One can readily visit the museum to see an assortment of glass artworks.
Another popular spot when it comes to cherry blossom is Neiwan which is located just outside the Hsinchu City. This is also a popular spot because it is away from all the traffic and noises of the city. There is also reliable transport to this spot where visitors get to choose the transport option that they want, such as tour trains. Therefore, during the holiday or weekend, many people will bring the children to have fun in Neiwan. And in March, most people come to enjoy the cherry blossoms.
While at Neiwan one can also enjoy visiting the old street that shows the early era of Taiwan and one of the ethnic cultures which is known as Hakka. This gives everyone who visits this area an opportunity to understand about the local culture. The old road also reminds the locals about their history and culture. And Neiwan is also famous for its suspension bridge. It is across above the stream, connects the old street and other spots. Walking on the bridge, you don’t need to fear, it’s very firm. And when you look underneath, you can see how rushing the rapid stream is.
All the amenities that one might need while visiting this area are readily available. There are hotels that provide accommodation to people who might want to spend a number of days in this area. Security is also enhanced where people can walk around without worrying about their security. There are places where one can shop and go home with reminders of this area. Therefore, visiting Hsinchu Park, Neiwan and other surrounding areas in the month of March provides a unique opportunity to witness cherry blossom and other attractions.
More Activities : Picking Strawberries
Besides enjoying the season of cherry blossom, there is another popular activity in March, that is picking strawberries in strawberry farms, especially in the Guanxi township of Hsinchu and Dahu township of Miaoli. If you want to give it a try, take a basket and a pair of scissors, and then enter the farm. There are many aisles. When you see a strawberry with perfect red, no defect, you may eat, just cut it out by your scissors. It’s easy, right? So that many people will come to try to be a one-day strawberry farmer. Moreover, it can also promote the agricultural recreation of Taiwan.
